Why an MBA?

"I was a SEAL officer for 11 years, and at that point in time, I knew I was excited about pursuing something different. I had an awesome experience in the military, but my wife and I had just had our first son, and I was excited about pursuing a new career challenge. I was drawn to renewable energy, and I knew that an MBA was going to build that foundation in order to be successful in that new role as a project developer. Obviously Haas has a first-class program, but it was the on-campus ability to tap into all the different resources that Haas and Berkeley have that really drew me."

Before starting his Berkeley MBA for Executives studies, Reggie Draper learned the hard lesson that entrepreneurs can't go it alone. He founded Draper Automotive in 2017 with the goal of creating an intensely collaborative community platform for auto trading. Doing that while working as an engineer in the petroleum space in Houston, Texas, was a challenge. Reggie knew he needed to deepen his business knowledge and expand his network.
