Randy McClure

  • Class of 2025
  • Industry: Government
  • Function: Data Analytics

Randy’s career to date has been rooted in public service at the local level. Prior to his current role as Chief Analytics Officer at the San Francisco Public Library, he spent 12 years working at the San Francisco Controller's Office providing public sector consulting services to agencies as diverse in function as the Police Department, the Public Utilities Commission and the Municipal Transportation Agency. He went "in-house" six years ago at the library, and has spent his time there developing culture around the use of data-driven decision-making in the delivery of public services. John Wooden's famous quote, "Never mistake activity for achievement," comes to mind frequently in his work, as he endeavors to measure meaningful outcomes in bureaucratic systems with little incentive to change.

In his free time, he has 2 very active little girls (8 and 3) who keep him busy hiking around the Bay Area and Tahoe, doing myriad youth sports and generally just being a #girldad. He is at Haas to learn about leadership and effectuating change through business tools, and is excited to learn through the cohort’s diverse experiences. His academic background includes a BA from Wake Forest University and a JD/MPP from the College of William & Mary.
