Jeremy is a U.S. Naval Aviator and United Airlines First Officer managing passenger safety and timely execution of commercial flight operations. While in the Navy, Jeremy evaluated and operated E-6B aircraft, providing the President a survivable and endurable means to command the nation’s strategic nuclear forces. He received three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and twice was awarded as the “Instructor Pilot of the Year” for developing a standardized flight evaluation protocol for all Navy multi-engine training squadrons. Travel is his jam. After living in Manama, Bahrain, and leading operations throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, Jeremy’s passion is exploring new locations around the world and sharing in the local customs. Athletics have also positively shaped his life. In 2008, he was Captain for the University of Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving team and an Olympic Trials participant.
Rachel is a sales manager at Genentech where she works to improve the customer and patient experience across the healthcare system. Prior to her sales role, Rachel was in product marketing where she developed strategies to bring new oncology treatments to customers. Her career began in digital advertising, where she supported clients such as Procter & Gamble, Clorox and Adobe to deliver global marketing campaigns. Rachel received her bachelor’s degree in Communication from The Ohio State University and currently lives in San Diego, CA. In her spare time, she enjoys running along the coast and exploring recipes inspired by her international travels.
Runjini graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a double major in Economics and Mass Communications. She began her career in digital marketing at the San Francisco Symphony before setting out on an adventure that took her to the beautiful island of O’ahu. As Digital Marketing Director for The Howard Hughes Corporation, she oversaw customer relationship management, paid search, social media, and marketing automation for the company’s mixed-use real estate development near downtown Honolulu. After over a decade in marketing, she decided to make a career shift to focus on data analysis and insights.
Runjini currently works in fundraising analytics for the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization that hosts Wikipedia and several other free knowledge projects. In her free time, Runjini loves to take spin classes, curl up with a good book, and travel around the world.
John Penney is a Chief Strategy Officer, Business Development, and Strategic Partnerships Executive. His areas of focus include developing new businesses, growth opportunities, and business model innovation. John helped launch and was Chairman of Starz Play Arabia, the largest subscription content service in the Middle East and North Africa. He has held senior executive positions with 20th Century Fox, Starz, IMG, HBO, Scient, and Viacom.
John serves on the Board of Industry Leaders of the Consumer Technology Association, which is responsible for staging CES, the annual innovation show in Las Vegas. Prior to working in media, John was an equity research analyst with Sanford Bernstein. John is a credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP). He was born and raised in New York City and now lives in Santa Monica with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. John enjoys travel, photography, gadgets of any kind, industrial design, and reading.
Born and raised in India, Rachita moved to the US in 2012 after completing her undergrad in Biotechnology. She attended Carnegie Mellon for a Master’s in Biotechnology and Management, after which she joined Putnam Associates, a life sciences strategy consulting firm. She has been with the company for 6.5 years now and is currently a Senior Consultant. In this time, she’s had the opportunity to lead multiple case teams on projects spanning across several therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, infectious diseases, respiratory diseases, rare diseases) in both US and global markets, advising clients on a range of critical business issues. Additionally, she actively drives many internal professional development and leadership initiatives at work and volunteers with the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association.
Outside work and volunteering, Rachita loves to travel and is passionate about photography. She enjoys painting, doodling and also likes to do baking and cooking experiments. She moved to the Bay Area from Boston for this next chapter in her life and is excited to explore all that the golden coast has to offer.
